Start with the task, not the file type

What do you need to do with your file?

Choose the outcome you need. Every tool works in your browser and creates a separate download when it changes a file, so your original stays under your control.

Choose by outcome

Start with a familiar result or search by the words in your task. Filters include the specialist destinations without crowding this first view.

Pick the result you need

Use this directory when you know the problem but not the product term. Each destination explains what it checks or creates before asking you to choose a local file.

  • Resize, compress, crop, or package images when an upload requires specific pixels, KB, or formats.
  • Check image details, privacy fields, dimensions, print size, colors, or a real-world reference measurement before sharing or printing.
  • Use a current official notice beside a validator when an application or store has changeable upload rules.

Files stay in your current browser session

Aftermath is designed for local file work. A selected file is read in the browser, and tools that make a change offer a separate download. The tool does not replace your source file or send it to an Aftermath processing service.

Questions people ask

Which tool should I use if I only know the upload requirement?

Start with Resize images or Custom image settings for a general size or format requirement. For a named application, use its destination-specific validator and compare the values with the active official notice.

Which tool removes image location or camera details?

Use Remove image metadata. It creates a separate locally re-encoded copy; review that copy before sharing because visible content can still reveal private information.

Can I change a PDF without uploading it?

Yes. The PDF tools work in the current browser tab and offer a separate download. They deliberately reject encrypted, signed, interactive-form, or permission-restricted PDFs rather than risk a broken copy.
