Worked example
A 3600 × 2400 image needs a planning calculation for output at both 300 PPI and 150 PPI.
Starting facts
- The pixel grid is known and remains unchanged.
- Physical size depends on the selected density assumption.
Observed operation: Enter or read the pixel dimensions, compare density values and calculate the corresponding inches and millimetres.
Review the result: Use the reported 12 × 8 inch result at 300 PPI only as a planning value for the intended print workflow.
Boundary: The calculator does not inspect printer settings, actual output scale, paper, resampling or visible image quality.
