Your files stay in your browser.

Aftermath File Fixer is a local-first image, video, audio, and PDF preparation website. We do not see, receive, upload, or save the files you select in the tool. This notice explains local file processing and the separate technical, analytics, and advertising information involved in using the site, including Google AdSense.

What happens to your files

JPG, PNG, and WebP files are decoded, resized, normalized, validated, previewed, and packaged in your browser.
PDFs are read, merged, split, annotated with new text boxes or freehand drawing, and packaged in your browser. A split, merge, or editor export creates a separate download and does not alter the source PDF on your device. Editor additions are flattened into the downloaded copy.
Common MP4, M4V, MOV, and WebM videos can be inspected and, when locally supported, compressed, trimmed, converted, framed, or extracted as audio in a dedicated browser worker. A video that this browser cannot support is reported as a local limitation; it is not uploaded to a fallback processing service.
Supported audio up to the 512 MiB source safeguard is decoded, trimmed or processed for one focused task, encoded as MP3 or 16-bit PCM WAV, and reopened for local verification in a dedicated browser worker. Buffered audio outputs are also limited to 512 MiB. The source remains unchanged, and an unsupported codec is not uploaded to a fallback service.
Image inspection, validation, layout, saved-file QR or barcode scanning, and SVG preparation run in this browser. The compatibility code scanner is loaded locally when needed, decoded links are never opened automatically, and SVG active content and external references are removed before preview or export. Sanitised SVG previews have a 2 MiB source limit plus element, attribute, and nesting-depth safeguards.
We do not receive, inspect, upload, or store selected file bytes, previews, rendered outputs, or ZIP files.
The tool does not send selected file bytes to Firebase Hosting, an analytics service, an advertising provider, or any other third party.
Your queue, previews, outputs, and ZIP files remain in the current browser session unless you download them. They can disappear when you close, refresh, clear, or otherwise reset that session.
The tool has no user accounts, cloud file storage, server-side file processing, OCR, or file analytics.

Website delivery and technical data

The public site is delivered through Firebase Hosting. Like most web hosts and networks, the hosting and security infrastructure may process technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as an IP address, browser and device details, requested page, and time of request. That information is separate from, and does not include, files you select in the tool.

Links to the Valorem product catalogue use valorem.ing/apps. Following that link leaves Aftermath File Fixer and is governed by the destination site’s own privacy information.

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-Y4428BQ5SY) to understand use of the public site. It may receive the page address, the referring site, browser and device information, a pseudonymous cookie-based identifier when analytics cookies are allowed, approximate location derived from IP address, and coarse route-level performance buckets such as good, needs-improvement, or poor. We also count coarse route landings from Google, Bing, or ChatGPT; tool opens; and completed local results using only stable route/tool labels and allowed status buckets. Page addresses keep only the utm_source, utm_medium, and utm_campaign campaign labels; every other query value and fragment is removed. On the first page you open, the referrer is shortened to the referring site’s address, such as https://www.google.com/, never its full link; later pages report the previous page on this site. It is not sent selected files, file contents, previews, rendered outputs, or ZIP files, and our events never include filenames or exact performance values. We do not use the tool to make decisions about you or to profile the contents of your files.

Cookies, local storage, and cache

When you choose Remember settings, this browser saves your chosen sizes, formats, and other reusable tool controls on this device. It does not save file bytes, filenames, pasted text, or trim positions. A settings link contains only these controls; anyone with the link can read them. Choose Forget remembered settings in that tool to remove its saved controls.

Google Analytics sets or reads analytics cookies, such as _ga, only while analytics storage is allowed for your region or by your choice. Google AdSense and participating advertising partners may use cookies or similar storage for advertising, measurement, and fraud prevention. Advertising choices are separate from the analytics choice; see Advertising and your choices below. Choosing Allow analytics or Decline saves that one choice in this browser’s local storage so the notice does not return and every page can apply it; it contains no file data and is not sent to us. A team link with ?internal=1 saves a local marker that labels this browser’s later analytics events as internal so they can be excluded from reports; ?internal=0 removes it. Starring a tool explicitly saves its tool ID in this browser’s local storage so you can find it on your next visit. Saved shortcuts contain no files, search text, or recordings and are not sent to us. Remove individual stars or use Clear saved tools on the homepage to delete them.

The browser service worker can use Cache Storage for public site files, such as pages, styles, and illustrations, to improve repeat visits. It does not cache selected image, video, audio, SVG, or PDF files, previews, decoded values, outputs, or ZIP files.

You can clear local preferences and cached site data through your browser settings. Clearing them may make the notice appear again or remove offline site files; it does not retrieve your files because we do not hold them.

Analytics choices

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, Google Analytics starts with analytics cookies off; elsewhere they start on. Google works out the region from your connection. Our Google tag starts with advertising consent settings denied. Allow analytics and Decline change only analytics storage, not advertising consent. Your analytics choice is saved in this browser and applied on each page. Advertising choices are handled separately through Google’s available consent controls.

While analytics cookies are off, Google Analytics may still receive cookieless pings for page views and events, with the same limited page and referrer details and without an analytics cookie or stored identifier. Choosing Decline also deletes the Google Analytics cookies this site set in this browser. You can change your choice at any time below or clear this site’s data in your browser settings.

Advertising and your choices

Aftermath loads Google AdSense on site pages to support the free tools. Ads may appear automatically, depending on the site’s AdSense settings, available ads, your region, and your choices. We do not promise that tool pages or download areas will be free of ads.

Loading AdSense sends Google technical information such as your IP address, browser details, and the page address. Google and participating advertising partners may use cookies, similar identifiers, and information about ad views and interactions for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Where personalized advertising is permitted, cookies may also help select ads based on previous visits to this and other websites.

Our file tools process selected files, previews, and outputs in your browser and do not upload them to Google or advertising partners. This local file-processing boundary does not mean that visiting the website makes no network requests.

Advertising choices are separate from Allow analytics and Decline. Where a Google consent message applies, use it to review purposes and advertising partners and to make or change your choices. You can try to reopen that message with Change ad choices. If the message is unavailable, our privacy notice provides other advertising settings and contact details. The file tools remain available regardless of your choice; opting out of personalized advertising does not remove every ad.

Messages you send us

If you email contact@aftermath.cc, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address and message. We use it to respond, handle the request, and protect or operate the site where necessary. Please do not email sensitive files, credentials, financial information, or other sensitive material unless you choose to do so; the local tool does not require any of it.

We keep correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain records, resolve a dispute, or meet a legal obligation. Email providers and other service providers used to deliver communications may process message data under their own terms and privacy notices.

Your privacy requests

Depending on where you live and the information involved, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent. These rights do not apply to selected files because we do not receive or retain them. To make a request about correspondence, email us from the address involved and describe your request. We may need limited information to verify it and may be unable to fulfil a request where an exception or legal obligation applies. You may also have the right to complain to the privacy regulator that applies to you.

Why limited personal data may be processed

Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, technical delivery and security data is processed as needed to provide and protect the site; correspondence is processed to answer your request, take requested steps, keep necessary records, or comply with law; analytics cookies are used only with your consent in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, and elsewhere unless you choose Decline; and non-essential advertising storage is used only under the consent controls that apply to it. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests by contacting us or, for analytics, by choosing Decline.

External services and transfers

Firebase Hosting, Google Analytics, Google AdSense and participating advertising partners, email providers, and linked websites operate under their own terms and privacy notices. They may process technical or communications data in countries other than yours. We do not control their practices. Guide links and advertising links are provided for convenience, not as an endorsement or guarantee.

Changes and contact

We may update this notice when the site’s processing boundary, vendors, or advertising configuration changes. We will post the updated version here and change the effective date. For privacy questions, contact contact@aftermath.cc.
