How to check your file
Use the general validator when an application gives you measurable file rules but has no dedicated Aftermath source page. Enter its minimum or maximum KB, exact width and height, and allowed format, then choose one image. The browser reports pass, warning, or fail for those entered properties only. It does not resize the file, inspect visual composition, infer missing rules, or guarantee that the destination will accept it.

Before you start
- The validator does not alter the image; its fix action opens /custom as a separate workflow.
- It cannot assess face position, background, recency, document identity, signature authenticity, portal policy, or final acceptance.

Browser support and permissions
- Modern browser with JavaScript, a supported image decoder, and enough memory for the selected set.
- No camera, microphone, or screen permission is needed.
Choose the right settings
- Choose this page for an application not covered by a named, source-linked validator.
- Choose a dedicated exam or PAN route when its visible source and notice-specific caveats are relevant.
- After identifying a measurable failure, use /custom to create a separate corrected copy and validate that output again.
Worked example
A recruitment portal states a 20–100 KB JPG and 300 × 400 pixels, so those exact rules are entered before checking a photo.
Starting facts
- The destination values come from the notice currently being used.
- The browser can measure bytes, decoded pixels and MIME format.
Observed operation: Enter the byte, pixel and format rules, select the photo and compare each measured property independently.
Review the result: Treat missing rules as warnings and use the pass/fail details to decide which property needs a separate correction.
Boundary: The validator cannot assess identity, pose, background, eligibility or undisclosed checks performed by the destination.
What you can do
Compare one application image's measured bytes, decoded dimensions, and MIME format with rules entered from any destination notice.
If it does not work
- Blank size or pixel fields remain warnings, so an incomplete rule card cannot produce a complete measured pass.
- Non-positive, non-whole pixel values or a minimum KB greater than the maximum create a rule-setup failure.
- An unsupported or undecodable raster cannot supply reliable pixels or format facts for comparison.

Privacy boundary
Selected image bytes and entered rule values stay in the current browser session and are not sent to an Aftermath processing service. How local processing is verified.
