Local PDF page normalizer

Normalize a PDF to A4 or Letter with an explicit fit choice.

Choose a target paper size and decide whether to scale with padding, scale with cropping, or change only the page canvas. Aftermath creates a separate local PDF so the source remains untouched.

Inspect a PDF locally, choose an explicit change or review step, then download a separate copy only when you decide to.

Inspect or correct PDF properties locally

Choose one flat PDF to inspect its page geometry, normalize a separate copy to A4 or Letter, review common document metadata, or flag probably blank pages before you explicitly remove them from a new download. JavaScript activates the local diagnostic workspace on this page.

Choose the consequence instead of letting a converter guess

Scale with padding keeps all visible content and leaves margins. Scale with crop fills the target page but can trim edges. Change canvas only adjusts the page boundary without scaling content, which can leave content outside the visible target area. The workspace labels each result before export.

Review page geometry before normalizing

Open the page-size inspector when you need to understand a mixed document first. The normalizer is for flat, readable PDFs and intentionally rejects encrypted, signed, or interactive-form documents rather than creating an unsafe copy.

Questions people ask

Does normalizing to A4 make the content sharper?

No. It changes page geometry and may scale existing content. It cannot add detail to raster images or scanned text inside a PDF.

Which fit method should I choose?

Use padding to preserve every edge, crop when edge trimming is acceptable, and canvas-only only when you understand how a viewer or printer will handle content outside the new page boundary.

Will my original PDF be changed?

No. Aftermath downloads a separate normalized copy and leaves the selected source file unchanged.
