What this tool checks
Check the embedded DPI/PPI and calculated print size of one local image before deciding whether its metadata matches a print workflow. Pixel dimensions determine the available detail; changing a density tag cannot add detail that is not already in the image. Confirm the printer, service, or destination requirement separately before submission.

Worked example
A 2400 × 3000 image is labelled 300 PPI and its nominal print size needs checking without resampling it.
Starting facts
- Pixel dimensions and density metadata are separate facts.
- The source pixels must remain unchanged during inspection.
Observed operation: Read the decoded pixel grid and embedded density, then calculate the corresponding inch and millimetre dimensions.
Review the result: Confirm the reported density is trustworthy before using the calculated 8 × 10 inch interpretation for planning.
Boundary: Nominal print dimensions do not guarantee printer scaling, paper output, sharpness, color or physical measurement accuracy.
