The proposed presets map common needs to practical defaults, such as compact mono MP3 for voice or a higher-bitrate stereo MP3 for music. A target-size request is intended to derive an encoding bitrate from the duration, estimate overhead, and then check the real result.
The planned interface keeps mono conversion and metadata removal as explicit space-saving choices. It should report actual bytes, duration, format, sample rate, and channels after export rather than presenting an unverified size estimate as a completed result.
Private browser handling
Aftermath reads a file you choose only in this browser tab. The shared workspace currently provides local file selection, playback, and task-specific planning; audio processing and export are not connected in this release.
