Audio cutter & trimmer

The future cutter is designed for one selected audio file and one kept range. It will show a progressive waveform, store boundaries as sample frames, and make optional fades explicit before creating a separate output.

Increase volume

The proposed volume tool starts with +3 dB, +6 dB, +12 dB, or a custom gain. Its planned export path applies gain followed by a stereo-linked limiter with a protective ceiling, then measures the result.

Normalize audio

The future normalizer is designed to offer Speech / podcast, General online audio, and Peak normalize presets. It will analyze loudness while building the waveform, apply the required gain during export, and report whether limiting was needed.

Compress audio

The future compressor is designed around outcomes—Smaller file, Balanced, Higher quality, or Target size—before exposing format, bitrate, channels, sample rate, and metadata controls. It will show an estimate, then measure the actual output.

Convert audio

The future converter will reuse the compression pipeline with preservation-oriented defaults: preserve sample rate, channels, normal loudness, and metadata unless the user chooses otherwise. Available output formats must be tested on the current browser at runtime.

Extract audio from video

The future extractor is designed for a video file selected from the device, not a remote URL. Its default path will inspect tracks, select audio, and copy compatible encoded packets into an audio-only output to preserve quality and keep the job light.

Remove silence

The future auto-trim tool is designed to trim quiet starts and ends or shorten internal silence. It will analyze short audio frames, propose cuts on the waveform, preserve padding around speech, and let the user disable individual cuts before export.

Remove background noise

The future speech noise tool is designed for voice recordings with fans, traffic-like sound, office noise, and similar backgrounds. It will load its specialized noise-reduction module only when this task is chosen and should encourage a cleaned short preview before export.

One shared workspace, eight focused outcomes

The shared workspace has a different starting task for cutting, volume, normalization, compression, conversion, extraction, silence shortening, and speech noise reduction. It is not intended to become a browser DAW, multitrack editor, or all-purpose AI studio.

Local-first processing is the intended boundary

The proposed architecture loads its media engine only after a file is selected or the workspace is opened. It is designed to use runtime capability checks and narrow local modules instead of uploading an unsupported file to a conversion service.

Aftermath reads a file you choose only in this browser tab. The shared workspace currently provides local file selection, playback, and task-specific planning; audio processing and export are not connected in this release.
